President’s Message: November 2022

Dear Members, Supporters, Partners and Friends,

PACE Canada has again had a very successful and financially sound year as described in our Annual General Meeting held virtually on May 30,2022 with members, sponsors, patrons and donors in attendance and our very supportive Sandra whiting as the MC.

Some of the highlights this year includes the following:

• We welcomed Shannon Green as a new member to the Board.

• My visit to a few schools that received the new OneTab devices to see how effective they are for the students and get their feedback which was very positive.

• Our continued partnership with community groups including participating on the Jamaica Consul General to Toronto Jamaica60 Committee, and partnership with the Early Childhood Commission in the Jamaica Ministry of Education.

• Over 200 Basic/kindergarten schools in Jamaica received funding and gift boxes valued at over CAD$77M thanks to your generous sponsorship. These funds will help the schools to reopen successfully based on new requirements for security and safety.

• We have partnered with Jamaican best-selling author to distribute her book, Suzy The Curious Snail: Explores the Garden, as a “thank you” gift for donations to Phase 2 of our OneTab project.

Our Holiday reception is planned for December 9, 2022 at the Blackhurst Cultural Centre, 777-779 Bathurst Street, Toronto where we will share in the comradery and cheers of the season and update you on our Jamaica 60th contest.
